Hello you! Sorry for my absence!
I’ve been so busy with the whole moving thing. If you didn’t know, we will move to another city by August 8th. But, we will start moving our stuff in 5 days, so you can imagine how messy my house right now. To be honest, I am not really excited about the packing thing, but I am very excited to move in to our new place. So yay us!!
Anyway, on today’s post, I am gonna list 5 books that I really really want to read, but I do not own yet. So, here we go.
1. Down Among The Sticks and Bone by Seanan Mcguire.
This book is the second book of the Wayward Children series. The first book called “Every Heart a Doorway”, and can I just say that I love it so much. If you’re looking for the diverse book, you cannot miss this series. The story was so unique, and unpredictable. I feel like it is so rich in characters and it full of creativity. If you follow my Instagram, I once mentioned that I fall in love with all of the characters, included the villain. Seriously, you have to get your hands on this book. It is soooo good! Now, from the synopsis that I’ve read, the second book will be told from the story of two of the characters(obviously heheh), and what happened with them? I don’t know, and I don’t want to know 🙂
2. A Pleasure and A Calling by Phil Hogan
Now, I don’t know much about this book. All I know this is a story about real estate agent who kept all of the keys of the houses that he has sold. I KNOW. Just by knowing that, I am sold! I love mystery story, so this book is totally go right up my alley.
3. We Have Always Lived in The Castle by Shirley Jackson
“My name is Mary Katherine Blackwood. I am eighteen years old, and I live with my sister Constance. I have often thought that with any luck at all I could have been born a werewolf, because the two middle fingers on both my hands are the same length, but I have had to be content with what I had. I dislike washing myself, and dogs, and noise. I like my sister Constance, and Richard Plantagenet, and Amanita phalloides, the death cap mushroom. Everyone else in my family is dead. ” – S. Jackson.
An old house, murder, family, arsenic. Sign me up! I mean seriously though, after reading that, don’t you want to read it too?
4. Nightmares by Jason Segel, Kirsten Miller and Karl Kwasny
I found this book when I was watching one of the booktuber that I can’t remember who. But I think it was JesseTheReader. He was holding this book on his hand and I was like “oohh.. pretty cover and I like the title”. So, I looked it up on Goodreads, and it is so intriguing. Again, I do not know much about it, but hey, let’s keep it that way 😀
5. Because You Love to Hate Me by Ameriie
This book! UUGHH. I want to read it sooo much. So, this book is basically has 13 reimagine fairytale stories written by 13 best-selling authors, that partnering with 13 booktubers. These stories are told from the perspective of the villains. RIGHT?! I always love story about villain, like Maleficent for example. That movie is one of the movie that stick with me until today. I adore it so much. So, I am excited for this one! Lucky, my wonderful friend @therusticwindow is sending me this wonderful book my way, and I can’t thank her enough. Cici, if you ever read this, THANK YOU! I can’t wait to read it!!
I feel like my list is more suitable for Halloween. I am sorry, but I just really love mystery heheh. For me this genre is perfect for all seasons 😀 But, if you’re not in the mood of something dark, maybe you can add one of these books to your autumn tbr.
